University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign opens a post-doctoral
position in the NIH Center of Excellence in Big Data Computing.
The postdoc will work on the NIH- funded project titled
“KnowEnG: A Scalable Knowledge Engine For Large-Scale
Genomic Data”(2014-2018). The appointed person will work on
developing and demonstrating computational tools for prediction of
organismal phenotypes from annotated genomes, and will be
directly supervised by faculty members Saurabh Sinha (Computer
Science) and William W. Metcalf (Microbiology). PhD in Computer
Science, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or a related field,
obtained within the last five years, is required. Working knowledge

Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) opens a post-doc position
in Neuroscience. The current position focuses on studying the link
between amyloid and Tau pathology in vivo and involves viral
vector and CRISPR-Cas9 technology. You are a highly motivated

Florida International University, Miami FL, has two post-doctoral
positions. Research in their group focuses on identifying molecular
mechanisms regulating HIV latency in the CNS and Lung with an
ultimate goal towards eradicating viral reservoirs in these target
organs. Lung research will also emphasize on the effects of HIV

Duke University School of Medicine has a two year industry
sponsored postdoctoral fellow position to conduct research to
elucidate the epigenetic mechanisms that contribute to the“islet
brake” hypothesis associated with the change in proliferative
capacity of young to old islets. You will be responsible for
establishing experimental approaches and design in conjunction
with PI (Simon Gregory, PhD), be able to analyze and interpret
data produced, and to synthesize these findings into manuscripts
for publication and/or formatted for the submission of grants. The
post- doctoral fellow will be responsible for developing and
conducting molecular analyses of DNA methylation and RNA
profiling as part of a large group focused on the molecular
characterization of pancreatic islet function in diabetes. The
Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to participate in Dr. Gregory’
s ongoing lab meetings and the larger research group. Applicants

University of Pennsylvania is presently seeking post- doctoral
candidates interested in translational research on
neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
disease as well as ALS and Frontotemporal Degeneration.
Applicants should have recently received a PhD degree in
neuroscience, biochemistry or a related field. Preferred candidates
will have prior experience in neurodegenerative disease research,
with demonstrated expertise in cell culture and studies of animal
models of neurodegenerative disorders. Training in
immunohistochemistry and protein biochemistry is highly
desirable. The successful candidate will assist in the assessment
and study of mouse models of neurodegenerative disease. In
addition, this position may eventually supervise and direct the
workflow of undergraduate students and research specialists.
