University of Copenhagen opens a postdoctoral position in cellmigration
and systems-scale drug discovery. In this position, the
successful applicant will perform large- scale integrative studies,
combining next generation sequencing, global phospho-proteomics
and high content screening, with computational models in order to
identify the signaling networks involved in cell migration.
Following target identification the applicant will generate novel
antibody based anti- cancer therapies that can be taken further
into pre- clinical and clinical testing. Candidates should hold a
PhD degree or equivalent in systems biology, molecular biology or
other relevant field. Experience in large- scale systems studies,
mammalian tissue culture, cell imaging and/or antibody
development is desired. Experience in mass- spectrometry and

Pprime Institute opens a postdoctoral position. This post-doc is a
part of the French ANR program ChoCoComp (CHOc Detection by
Innovative Piezochromic COatings on COMPosite Materials). The
objectives of the post-doc are: to experimentally characterize the
damage mechanisms occurring after mechanical impact in both
composite substrate and sensitive coating, by using different
techniques including laser shock test; to realize a numerical model
of the structure (substrate+coating) by finite element calculation;
to study the long-term behaviour of the structure (after ageing).
The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Mechanical
Engineering/Material Science or other relevant discipline and must
have a strong background in solid mechanics for composite
materials. Previous experience in both experimental and
computational fields is expected. A high level of self-motivation,
professional competence and a good command of oral and written

Latvijas Organiskas Sintezes Instituts opens a postdoctoral

Acreo Swedish ICT AB opens a postdoctoral position for a two
year Post Doc. The project will develop and investigate
theoretically, by simulations and experimentally new methods for
constructing communications systems for long range transmission (>
1000 km transmission range) with very high capacity. The work
will be performed within the EU Marie Curie project ICONE
which starts February 1, 2014 and has a duration of 4 years. The
work will be in close collaboration with one PhD student at Acreo-
Swedish ICT and 2 PhD students from Royal Institute of
Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. Topics for study includes: Ways
of incorporating features like chromatic dispersion, fiber nonlinearities,
Raman amplification, and decide which
implementations give the best phase noise tolerance; Mitigation of
component imperfections in system context; Modulation techniques
that are interesting are coherent n-level Phase Shift Keying (PSK)
and Quadrature Amplitude Modulated (QAM) systems as well
OFDM systems. The Post Doc research will be based on numerical

University of Rome Tor Vergata opens a postdoctoral position
funded by the ERC Starting Grant nature nanodevices. The
overriding goal of this research project is to mimic Nature in the
design of novel nucleic acid based nanodevices that detect cancer,
provide detection-driven therapy, and monitor treatment efficacy.
The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary project that spans
the fields of DNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology and
bioengineering. The candidate will engineer and optimize
highly specific biomolecular DNA-based nanodevices that undergo
binding-induced conformational changes upon target binding and,
in doing so, signal the presence of the cancer marker or release a
therapeutic cargo. Different therapeutic agents that includes
aptamers, siRNA and DNA binders will be studied. Different
cancer markers will be also taken in consideration including
transcription Factors, RNA and DNA, Cell receptors (epitopes

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center open postdoctoral
positions to work in the area of DNA damage repair and cancer

Randolph- Macon College seeks to hire an evolutionary biologist
