Multiple postdoctoral fellow positions available at Harvard Medical
School (http://mbib.med.harvard.edu/faculty/mdong.html). They are
currently undergoing a major expansion in the following areas:
Postdoctoral fellow in Neuroscience/Cell Biology: potential projects
include (1) synaptic vesicle exocytosis/recycling, with a focus on
the functional role of the major vesicle proteins SV2 and
synaptotagmin; (2) actin cytoskeleton remodeling in neurons, with
a focus on the newly defined ROCO kinases in regulating
cytoskeleton, and their roles in neuronal development, axon
regeneration, synaptic plasticity, and neurodegenerative diseases;
(3) membrane trafficking in sensory neurons, with a goal to
develop novel therapeutic toxins for treating chronic pain.
Knowledge in presynaptic vesicle release, synaptic plasticity,
cytoskeleton regulations, pain pathways, and technical experience
in affinity purification of novel protein binding partners, primary
neuron culture, embryonic stem cell and iPSC cell culture and
differentiation, electrophysiology, and in vivo analysis of rodent
models will be helpful, but not required. Postdoctoral fellow in
Microbiology/Biochemistry/Biophysics: on pathogenesis, function,
and engineering of a broad range of bacterial toxins, with a current
focus on identification of toxin receptors, toxin- receptor
interactions, and protein engineering of botulinum neurotoxins
toward generating new therapeutic toxins. A background in
microbiology, molecular genetics, protein structural modeling and
prior experience with genetic screening, expression cloning,
biochemical and biophysical analysis of protein- protein
interactions, various display methods (phage, yeast, mRNA, etc),
or X-ray structural studies will be beneficial, but are not required.

Pacific NW National Laboratory -Marine Sciences Laboratory has
an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to conduct
innovative research in computational modeling of fish
reproduction. The postdoctoral fellow will use an existing
biologically based pharmacodynamic model of the rainbow trout
reproductive system to develop in vitro- in vivo extrapolation
methods for translating in vitro results to predictions of whole
animal effects. In addition, the fellow will use toxicokinetic models
such as physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models, to estimate
the environmental exposures needed to achieve predicted target
tissue thresholds for effect. The fellow will also be involved with
refining model parameterization and expanding model structure.
Applicants must have a PhD (or completed degree requirements by
start date) in biological modeling, mathematics, toxicokinetics or
related field of study. Experience in dynamic modeling of
biological systems, and/or multi- scale modeling and modeling

Postdoctoral associate position is open at the Oklahoma State
University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences to study
neurotoxicology. Experience in in vivo toxicology using mammalian

The Brown University announces the opening of a tenure- track
